Our
Story
We’re Jorden and Jessica—founders of Sacred Ground Contracting and partners in life as well as business.
Jessica is Indigenous and grew up in a small northern town, where a love for the land, community, and service was part of everyday life. She spent years working in healthcare as a midwife, and later in Indigenous family support and outreach roles, always focused on helping people and building strong connections.

Jorden grew up in Muskoka and spent much of his career working fly-in, fly-out as a heavy equipment operator in remote northern communities. His hands-on experience eventually led him into the hydroseeding and land services industry.

We met in Ontario during a time of change for both of us. When Jorden co-founded a hydroseeding business, Jessica worked alongside him, supporting operations and learning the industry from the ground up.

After facing personal loss and major life changes, we decided to take a leap of faith: we left our jobs, sold what we owned, and started fresh in Nova Scotia. Today, this is home. We’re building our future and family here, and a business rooted in care, accountability, and respect for the land.

We love supporting healthy landscapes and contributing to projects that make a lasting difference. As a small, owner-operated company, we take pride in being hands-on, reliable, and deeply connected to the communities we serve, whether they’re local and rural clients, municipalities, First Nations communities, or industry partners.
