Reliable Land Services, Done With Care
From hydroseeding and erosion control to land restoration and site finishing, Sacred Ground provides practical, environmentally responsible solutions for projects of all sizes. We approach every job with respect for the land, the surrounding community, and the long-term success of your site.

Residential & Commercial Hydroseeding
Hydroseeding is an efficient, cost-effective solution for establishing healthy grass on residential and commercial properties. Ideal for large yards, slopes, and areas where soil has been disturbed, hydroseeding provides uniform seed distribution and even germination for a thicker, more consistent lawn. Compared to sod, it’s more affordable and far less labour-intensive, and it performs better than traditional seeding—especially across larger or uneven spaces.

New Construction Site Hydroseeding
Hydroseeding is an excellent way to quickly beautify new construction sites while supporting soil stability and environmental compliance. Whether it’s a residential build, commercial development, or infrastructure project, our services help establish vegetation efficiently, reduce exposed soil, and keep projects moving forward. By supporting erosion control and meeting environmental requirements, hydroseeding helps keep construction timelines on track without sacrificing long-term results.

Erosion Control (Slopes, Roadsides & Ditches)
Effective erosion control is critical for protecting soil, water quality, and surrounding infrastructure. The ability to quickly manage runoff can be the difference between a site that complies with surface water and sediment regulations—and one that doesn’t. Our erosion control solutions are designed for slopes, roadsides, and ditches, helping reduce sediment runoff, minimize maintenance, and support safer, greener infrastructure over time.

Soil Restoration & Reclamation
Hydroseeding plays a key role in soil restoration and land reclamation by promoting rapid vegetation growth and long-term soil stabilization. Using proprietary slurry blends customized to each site, we support fast establishment of cover crops that help prevent erosion, improve soil health, and suppress dust. These solutions are effective for disturbed, depleted, or reclaimed land where restoring function and stability is essential.
FAQ
What is hydroseeding?
Hydroseeding, or hydraulic mulch seeding, is an environmentally friendly planting method that was developed in the 1940s. Originally developed for erosion control on highway embankments in the United States, hydroseeding has expanded to other uses, from lawn care to land restoration.
How does hydroseeding work?
Hydroseeding works by spraying a mixture of natural binders, mulch, fertilizer, and seeds evenly over bare ground. The slurry creates a protective layer that prevents erosion and retains moisture, helping the seeds germinate quickly and evenly.
What is hydroseeding slurry made of?
The exact components of hydroseeding slurry vary depending on whether the goal is lawn restoration, erosion control, new build establishment, or land reclamation, but every mixture includes water, seed, mulch, fertilizer, and a binder to help hold the seed in place. Sacred Ground Contracting uses all-natural and eco-friendly ingredients to maintain soil health while protecting local communities, wildlife, and waterways.
Is hydroseeding environmentally friendly?
Sacred Ground Contracting uses only eco-friendly, non-toxic ingredients for our hydroseeding mixes.
Is hydroseeding safe for kids and pets?
We love kids and animals, and we’re careful to choose products that are safe for both. However, keep your kids and animals off newly hydroseeded surfaces in order to protect the layer of seeds.
Is hydroseeding expensive?
Hydroseeding is much less expensive than sod and much less labour-intensive than seeding.
How much maintenance does hydroseeding need?
Hydroseeding requires regular light watering (enough to keep the seed mixture moist, but not enough to form puddles). Exact times will depend on the weather and season, but in general, aim for 5-10 minutes on each section of lawn. Your Sacred Ground technician will provide instructions if your property requires a specialized approach.
